Answers to your Frequently Asked Questions

Question: When I'm flying the Mission 19, I see a large empty area in the mountains. What is the cause?

Answer: This is an error. The scenery was built from elevation data which was incomplete. We have corrected the problem which you can download now woc_upd.zip (500k)

The update replaces one scenery file (BGL) and 3 mission files (MIS). After you download woc_upd.zip, use WinZip to extract the files into your main Combat Flight Simulator folder. Be sure to have the "Use folder names" option checked and that you choose "Confirm file overwrite" when you unzip the archive. The files will be placed into the proper CFS folders.

Note: This update also fixes Question 2 (see below).

Question: When I'm flying the Mission 13 or 14, I see a fighter that appears below the airport. I am unable to destroy it. Why not?

Answer: This problem is due to an incompatibiity in the way in which exploding objects are placed onto elevated mesh terrain.

We have completed a "work-around" which you can download now woc_upd.zip (500k)

Question: In Campaign 3, I'm encountering the message, "Error loading mission file. Either mission file is corrupt or formatted improperly." I have to restart CFS. I've played this campaign before, how do I correct this?

Answer: The error message occurs only when you play the campaign in Ace level. Playing at the Rookie and Veteran work correctly.

To correct this problem, download the file, wocmis03.zip. Use WinZip, to copy the contents to CFS's \Missions and \Campaign's folders (you'll replace the existing mission and campaign files)..

After replacing the files, you' be able to play Campaign 3 in Rookie, Veteran and Ace levels.
