Flying the GeeBee

Install the GeeBee into your FS2002 or FS2000 \aircraft folder. If you haven't alredy done so, follow the instructions on our installation page. You can get a gook look at the feature of the GeeBee from spot plane view by pressing the 'S' key three times. As you "walk around" notice: If it isn't already on, set mixture to rich (red lever forward) and press Ctrl-E to start the engine and see the props spin. Move the stick forward and back to see the elevator move up and down. Move the stick from side to side to see the rudder and ailerons move. Don't look for the flaps since the GeeBee doesn't have any. Takeoff The GeeBee is a snout-nosed tail dragger. To see over the instrument panel you can press the Shift-Enter key a few times. Carefully taxi out to the runway and position the craft on the center line. Push the throttles to full and the engine will increase the ground speed quickly. At 60 knots the tail will rise and you'll be able to see over the instrument panel. The engine is so powerful that you may not even have to pull back! If it isn't airborne on its own, at about 80 knots start the rotation. Slowly pull back on the stick and you'll be airborne about 90 knots. She can go faster than 200 knots. Have some fun flying. Landing Approach at about 120 knots. Short final about 100 knots. The GeeBee takes time to bleed off speed, so don't come in too fast. Stall speed is about 80 knots. As you approach the near end of the threshold, pull back on the throttles and hold her off of the runway in a level attitude until she settles onto the surface.
