Carrier Strike Force - Frequently Asked Questions

    Carrier Strike Force was recently released for both FSX and FS2004.

    Below are several FAQs that apply to this exciting new add-on.

    Frequently Asked Questions


    Question: FSX only I am attempting to land the Rafale M on the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier, but I am having a difficult time catching the cable. What can I do to make the landing easier?

     

    Answer: We have changed some of the settings for 3WireX to make it easier to catch the cable. Please download and install FSXUpdate 1 below.


     

    Question: FSX only I'm trying to launch my aircraft from the deck of the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier but the crew is telling me that my request is denied. What can I do to have a successful catapult launch?

     

    Answer: We have adjusted some of the settings that control the catapult. Please download and install FSXUpdate 1 below.

     


    Question: FSX only When I land on the Charles de Gaulle, my aircraft sometimes slides off the end of the carrier. Why?

     

    Answer: The cable hold force setting is too low for some aircraft. We have increased this setting. Please download and install FSXUpdate 1 below.

     


    Question: FS2004 only When I load one of the pre-saved flights, the default Cessna aircraft is selected. Why?

     

    Answer: This is a mistake. We have prepared a replacement set of flights for the various Carrier Strike Force aircraft either on deck and ready for launch or on approach to the various carriers. Please download and run FS2004Update 1 below to install the pre-saved flights.

     


     

     

    FSX Update 1 - for Carrier Strike Force (required only for FSX)

     

     

    This updates the 3WireX program and its configuration files. At the end of the installation, the Carrier Strike Force Setup program will automatically launch. Be sure to click Continue to properly update these new components.

     

     

    Download and AbacusCSF_FSXUpdate1.exe (8 MB for FSX only)

     

     

    NOTE: FSX Update 1 is not required if Carrier Strike Force version V1.01.0000 is installed.

     

    To determine your version -

     

    For Windows XP:

     

    Open the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs. Click on "Carrier Strike Force for FSX", then click the "Click here for support information" link.

     

     

    The original release of the software is version 1.00.0000. If this is your version, please install Update 1.

     

    The revised version of the software is version 1.01.0000 which already includes the changes included in Update 1 and therefore does not require additional changes.

     

    For Windows Vista:

     

    From the Start menu, select Control Panel | Programs and Features. Scroll down and click "Carrier Strike Force for FSX". At the bottom of the screen you'll see the Product version.

     

     

    The original release of the software is version 1.00.0000. If this is your version, please install Update 1.

     

    The revised version of the software is version 1.01.0000 which already includes the changes included in Update 1 and therefore does not require additional changes.

     



     

     

    FS2004 Update 1 - for Carrier Strike Force (required only for FS2004)

     

     

    This adds multiple pre-saved flights for the various Carrier Strike Force aircraft either on deck and ready for launch or on approach to the different aircraft carriers.

     

     

    Download and run AbacusCSF_FS2004Update1.exe (5 MB for FS2004 only)
